Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Double Handstand by Joan Cornellà was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 7,560.00 (€ 7,720.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Cornellà achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work CCTV (Orange) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 444,000.00 (€ 453,410.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Double Handstand von Joan Cornellà im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 7.560,00 (€ 7.720,24) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Cornellà erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit CCTV (Orange) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 444.000,00 (€ 453.410,87).
