Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Islamic Scholars in Preparation by Jimoh Akolo was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction auction at Sothebys in London in March last year. The price achieved of GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,710.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jimoh Akolo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bow Harp in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 62,750.00 (€ 74,341.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Islamic Scholars in Preparation von Jimoh Akolo wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art | and CCA Lagos Benefit Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.710,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jimoh Akolo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bow Harp im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 62.750,00 (€ 74.341,80).
