Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2010 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Prodigal Son by Jimmy Ong. The price achieved of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 6,963.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jimmy Ong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nelli'S Dowry, which sold at auction in April 2008 for HKD 223,500.00 (€ 18,419.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2010 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Prodigal Son von Jimmy Ong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 6.963,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 60.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jimmy Ong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nelli'S Dowry beobachtet, die im April 2008 für HKD 223.500,00 (€ 18.419,23) versteigert wurde.
