Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jim Lambie could be acquired at Sothebys in London in August 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art| London auction, the work Glam Racket changed hands for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,235.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Lambie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Careless Whisper in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 203,117.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jim Lambie konnte im August 2020 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art| London wechselte die Arbeit Glam Racket für GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.235,72) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Lambie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Careless Whisper im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 203.117,21).
