This artwork by Jigger Cruz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for HKD 237,500.00 (€ 27,034.42) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jigger Cruz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jazz In A Restless Landscape Of Silhouettes And Screeches in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 130,017.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jigger Cruz erzielte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 237.500,00 (€ 27.034,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jigger Cruz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jazz In A Restless Landscape Of Silhouettes And Screeches im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.125.000,00 (€ 130.017,02).
