In May 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work An Awful Ruins Behind The Melting Sunrise by Jigger Cruz. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 225,000.00 (€ 26,400.76), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jigger Cruz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jazz In A Restless Landscape Of Silhouettes And Screeches in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 130,017.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Awful Ruins Behind The Melting Sunrise von Jigger Cruz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 26.400,76) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jigger Cruz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jazz In A Restless Landscape Of Silhouettes And Screeches im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.125.000,00 (€ 130.017,02).
