Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Elderly Lady by Jiang Zhaohe was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 600,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 2,000,000.00 (€ 211,031.97). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jiang Zhaohe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Harmony Of Strings, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 7,480,000.00 (€ 732,208.38).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Elderly Lady von Jiang Zhaohe im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 600.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 2.000.000,00 (€ 211.031,97) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Jiang Zhaohe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Harmony Of Strings beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 7.480.000,00 (€ 732.208,38) versteigert wurde.
