Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Imperial Manual of Birds – Roosters by Jiang Tingxi was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 4,410,000.00 (€ 510,287.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jiang Tingxi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chinese Cabbage in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 23,640,000.00 (€ 2,235,747.80).
