Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Birds And Flowers After Yuan Masters by Jiang Tingxi was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,075.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jiang Tingxi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chinese Cabbage in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 23,640,000.00 (€ 2,235,747.80).
