The work Scenery of West Lake by Jiang Shijie was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2008. It achieved a price of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 23,169.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Admittedly, works by Jiang Shijie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 104,258.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Scenery of West Lake von Jiang Shijie wurde im Dezember 2008 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 23.169,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jiang Shijie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 104.258,12).
