Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Legendary Figures by Jiang Lian for HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,267.91). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jiang Lian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Beauties In Tang Poetry, which sold at auction in November 2013 for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,073.06).
