Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fresh October Brings The Pheasant Then To Gather Nuts Is Pleasant by Jessie Marion King was sold in the Scottish Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in May 2008. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,360.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jessie Marion King - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'No Goblin or Swart Faëry Hath Hurtfull Power' - illustration to John Milton's 'Comus', which sold at auction in December last year for GBP 17,640.00 (€ 19,913.84).
