Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Spring Morning By The Kitchen Door, Preparing For Market by Jerome Thompson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,473.86). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jerome Thompson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Duck Hunting, which sold at auction in March 2006 for USD 54,000.00 (€ 44,484.72).
