Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jerkface achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in September 2021. In the Contemporary Showcase: Otaku Redux auction, the work Astro Cloud sold for HKD 478,800.00 (€ 53,103.50) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jerkface - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homerbob Wave (Variant), which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 119,700.00 (€ 122,237.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jerkface erzielte im September 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Showcase: Otaku Redux wurde die Arbeit Astro Cloud für HKD 478.800,00 (€ 53.103,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jerkface mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Homerbob Wave (Variant) beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 119.700,00 (€ 122.237,12) versteigert wurde.
