Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Host by Jenny Saville. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 350,000.00 – 45,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 422,500.00 (€ 507,137.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jenny Saville achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Propped in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 9,537,250.00 (€ 10,755,075.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Host von Jenny Saville zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 350.000,00 – 45.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 422.500,00 (€ 507.137,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jenny Saville erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Propped im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.537.250,00 (€ 10.755.075,69).
