Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Bridge by Jehangir Sabavala was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 206,500.00 (€ 269,460.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jehangir Sabavala have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Embarkation in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,590,000.00 (€ 1,373,412.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Bridge von Jehangir Sabavala kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 206.500,00 (€ 269.460,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jehangir Sabavala auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Embarkation im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.590.000,00 (€ 1.373.412,80).
