Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2017 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Stag-Antlered Tree II by Jehangir Sabavala. It changed hands for a price of USD 275,000.00 (€ 232,794.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jehangir Sabavala have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Embarkation in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,590,000.00 (€ 1,373,412.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stag-Antlered Tree II von Jehangir Sabavala zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 275.000,00 (€ 232.794,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jehangir Sabavala auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Embarkation im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.590.000,00 (€ 1.373.412,80).
