Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Eclectic | New York, which included the work Two Men Wrestling by Jef Lambeaux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,388.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jef Lambeaux have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Olympian Wrestlers in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,604.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Eclectic | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Men Wrestling von Jef Lambeaux zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.638,00 (€ 1.388,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jef Lambeaux auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Olympian Wrestlers im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.604,47).
