This artwork by Jean Petitot the Elder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2019. In the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III auction, the work Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1670 sold for GBP 8,750 (€ 10,341) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Petitot the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work , which sold at auction in July 2018 for GBP 20,000 (€ 22,424).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean Petitot the Elder erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1670 für GBP 8.750 (€ 10.341) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Petitot the Elder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit beobachtet, die im Juli 2018 für GBP 20.000 (€ 22.424) versteigert wurde.
