Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jean-Paul Riopelle achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in May this year. In the Limited Edition auction, the work Le Couchant - 1979 sold for EUR 1,706.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Paul Riopelle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre in December 2017 with an auction result of EUR 4,882,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean-Paul Riopelle erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Artcurial einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Limited Edition wurde die Arbeit Le Couchant - 1979 für EUR 1.706,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Paul Riopelle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans Titre im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 4.882.500,00.
