Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Carnations And Other Flowers In A Bronze Vase by Jean-Michel Picart for USD 52,500.00 (€ 45,887.60). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters: Part II at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jean-Michel Picart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Still Life Of A Basket Of Flowers And A Mound Of Fruit On A Sculpted Stone Table, Partly Covered With A Blue Velvet, Gold-And-Silver-Fringed Cloth With Drapery And A Stone Column In The Background in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 601,000.00 (€ 404,959.23).
Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Michel Picart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Still Life Of A Basket Of Flowers And A Mound Of Fruit On A Sculpted Stone Table, Partly Covered With A Blue Velvet, Gold-And-Silver-Fringed Cloth With Drapery And A Stone Column In The Background im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 601.000,00 (€ 404.959,23).
