Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Bouquet Of Flowers With Poppies, Roses, Tulips, Narcissi, Cyclamen, And Hydrangeas In A Lapis Vase With Butterflies On A Stone Ledge by Jean-Michel Picart was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 140,000.00 – 180,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 115,000.00 (€ 77,488.04). Admittedly, works by Jean-Michel Picart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Still Life Of A Basket Of Flowers And A Mound Of Fruit On A Sculpted Stone Table, Partly Covered With A Blue Velvet, Gold-And-Silver-Fringed Cloth With Drapery And A Stone Column In The Background in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 601,000.00 (€ 404,959.23).

Als die Arbeit A Bouquet Of Flowers With Poppies, Roses, Tulips, Narcissi, Cyclamen, And Hydrangeas In A Lapis Vase With Butterflies On A Stone Ledge von Jean-Michel Picart im Januar 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 140.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 115.000,00 (€ 77.488,04) den Besitzer.
