Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Still Life Of Flowers In A Ormulu Mounted Lapis Lazuli Vase On A Stone Ledge by Jean-Michel Picart was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. The price achieved of USD 48,000.00 (€ 36,928.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Michel Picart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life Of A Basket Of Flowers And A Mound Of Fruit On A Sculpted Stone Table, Partly Covered With A Blue Velvet, Gold-And-Silver-Fringed Cloth With Drapery And A Stone Column In The Background in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 601,000.00 (€ 404,959.23).

Die Arbeit A Still Life Of Flowers In A Ormulu Mounted Lapis Lazuli Vase On A Stone Ledge von Jean-Michel Picart wurde im Januar 2007 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 48.000,00 (€ 36.928,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Michel Picart erzielen.
