Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Estate of Melvin S. Rosenthal, which included the work Tête de jeune fille by Jean Metzinger. Here, the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 107,475.00 (€ 104,112.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Metzinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Cycliste in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 3,015,000.00 (€ 3,494,391.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Estate of Melvin S. Rosenthal durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tête de jeune fille von Jean Metzinger zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 107.475,00 (€ 104.112,18) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Metzinger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Cycliste im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.015.000,00 (€ 3.494.391,84).
