Hirshhorn: Collector for A Nation - An Online Sale auction, the work I Noir sold for USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,230.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jean McEwen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Compagnon De Silence sold at auction in May 2012 with the realized price of CAD 65,750.00 (€ 51,381.15).
