Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2011 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Jean McEwen for CAD 4,800.00 (€ 3,446.41). This price was achieved in the auction Important Canadian Art at Sothebys in Toronto and was even below the estimate range of CAD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean McEwen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Compagnon De Silence in May 2012 with an auction result of CAD 65,750.00 (€ 51,381.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2011 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jean McEwen für CAD 4.800,00 (€ 3.446,41) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Canadian Art bei Sothebys in Toronto erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean McEwen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Compagnon De Silence im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 65.750,00 (€ 51.381,15).
