This artwork by Jean Francois Marie Huet-Villiers achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2008. In the Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction, the work A young gentleman, in green cloak, white shirt with knotted cravat sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,595.02) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jean Francois Marie Huet-Villiers; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait de Marie Laetizia Bonaparte, Dite 'Madame Mère' (1750-1836) sold at auction in June 2005 with the realized price of EUR 5,760.00.

In der Auktion Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes wurde die Arbeit A young gentleman, in green cloak, white shirt with knotted cravat für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.595,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jean Francois Marie Huet-Villiers; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait de Marie Laetizia Bonaparte, Dite 'Madame Mère' (1750-1836) im Juni 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 5.760,00.
