Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A group of peasants dancing in a landscape, with cows in the foreground and a view of a valley and village at sunset beyond by Jean-François Hue was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,729.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-François Hue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Views of the Château de Mousseaux and its gardens in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 248,000.00 (€ 265,866.21).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.729,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-François Hue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Views of the Château de Mousseaux and its gardens im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 248.000,00 (€ 265.866,21).
