Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Rond-Point Des Champs-Élysées by Jean Béraud. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 350,000.00 (€ 313,929.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean Béraud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French bois De Boulogne in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,810,000.00 (€ 1,625,505.16).
