Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Les Grands Boulevards by Jean Béraud for USD 113,400.00 (€ 94,911.28). This price was achieved in the auction True Connoisseurship: The Collection of Ezra & Cecile Zilkha at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Béraud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French bois De Boulogne in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,810,000.00 (€ 1,625,505.16).
