Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Roses, carnations, tulips, forget-me-nots and other flowers in an urn, with carnations, honeysuckle and other flowers on a classical plinth, before a draped curtain by Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 9,785.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Bouquet Of Flowers In A Gilded Bronze Urn On A Porphyry Base In An Architectural Setting in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 476,750.00 (€ 531,979.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roses, carnations, tulips, forget-me-nots and other flowers in an urn, with carnations, honeysuckle and other flowers on a classical plinth, before a draped curtain von Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.812,50 (€ 9.785,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Bouquet Of Flowers In A Gilded Bronze Urn On A Porphyry Base In An Architectural Setting im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 476.750,00 (€ 531.979,79).
