Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Christies in London held the auction Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online, which included the work Flowers in an urn on a sarcophagus by Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 82,756.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Bouquet Of Flowers In A Gilded Bronze Urn On A Porphyry Base In An Architectural Setting in July 2017 with an auction result of GBP 476,750.00 (€ 531,979.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings & Sculpture Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flowers in an urn on a sarcophagus von Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 69.300,00 (€ 82.756,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Bouquet Of Flowers In A Gilded Bronze Urn On A Porphyry Base In An Architectural Setting im Juli 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 476.750,00 (€ 531.979,79).
