Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work The Pyramid Of The Sun, Teotihuacan, Mexico by Jean Baptiste Louis Gros. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 90,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 97,000.00 (€ 66,040.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Baptiste Louis Gros - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vue Du Salon Du Baron Gros, Vers 1850-1857, which sold at auction in November 2008 for EUR 216,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Pyramid Of The Sun, Teotihuacan, Mexico von Jean Baptiste Louis Gros zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 90.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 97.000,00 (€ 66.040,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Baptiste Louis Gros mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vue Du Salon Du Baron Gros, Vers 1850-1857 beobachtet, die im November 2008 für EUR 216.750,00 versteigert wurde.
