In June 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries, which included the work View of Patzcuaro, Mexico by Jean Baptiste Louis Gros. The auction ended at the price of USD 20,000.00 (€ 16,272.07), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Baptiste Louis Gros achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vue Du Salon Du Baron Gros, Vers 1850-1857 in November 2008 with an auction result of EUR 216,750.00.

Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of Patzcuaro, Mexico von Jean Baptiste Louis Gros zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 16.272,07) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Baptiste Louis Gros erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vue Du Salon Du Baron Gros, Vers 1850-1857 im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 216.750,00.
