Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jean Baptiste Louis Gros could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The European Art Sale Part I auction, the work Port de Lisbonne changed hands for USD 27,720.00 (€ 24,723.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean Baptiste Louis Gros have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vue Du Salon Du Baron Gros, Vers 1850-1857 in November 2008 with an auction result of EUR 216,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean Baptiste Louis Gros konnte im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The European Art Sale Part I wechselte die Arbeit Port de Lisbonne für USD 27.720,00 (€ 24.723,51) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Baptiste Louis Gros auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vue Du Salon Du Baron Gros, Vers 1850-1857 im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 216.750,00.
