This artwork by Jean-Baptiste Isabey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Circa 1800 sold for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,856.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Isabey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait D'Eustachine-Jeanne D'Osmond in June 2015 with an auction result of EUR 47,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean-Baptiste Isabey erzielte im Mai 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Circa 1800 für GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.856,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Isabey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait D'Eustachine-Jeanne D'Osmond im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 47.500,00.
