Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master & British Drawings including property from The Cornelia Bessie Estate, which included the work Study of the head of a woman looking to the right, her hair in a cap by Jean-Baptiste Greuze. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 75,000.00 (€ 61,804.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Greuze achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 827,662.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings including property from The Cornelia Bessie Estate durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study of the head of a woman looking to the right, her hair in a cap von Jean-Baptiste Greuze zur Versteigerung kam.
