Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Head study of a young woman looking up to the right by Jean-Baptiste Greuze was sold in the Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. It achieved a price of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 82,756.51), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Greuze achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 827,662.67).
