Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Profile portrait of Empress Catherine the Great of Russia, in an oval frame by Jean-Baptiste Greuze was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,350.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Greuze achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 827,662.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Profile portrait of Empress Catherine the Great of Russia, in an oval frame von Jean-Baptiste Greuze wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.350,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
