In the Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction, the work Study of the head of a man, seen in profile, his mouth agape with an expression of anger sold for USD 176,400.00 (€ 157,331.43) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Greuze have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 827,662.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
