Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait De Monsieur Lenoir, Lieutenant De Police by Jean-Baptiste Greuze was sold in the Old Master & 19th century Art auction at Artcurial in Paris in June 2021. It changed hands for a price of EUR 19,500.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Greuze achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 827,662.67).
