It achieved a price of EUR 123,030.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54 %. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Greuze have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,082,500.00 (€ 827,662.67).

Die Arbeit Le Message D'Amour von Jean-Baptiste Greuze kam im März letzten Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 123.030,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 54 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Greuze auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Hermit, Or The Distributor Of Rosaries im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.082.500,00 (€ 827.662,67).
