A top price for Jean Baier - as previously expected
In March 2005 Christies in Geneva held the auction SCHWEIZER KUNST, which included the work Composition, 1959 by Jean Baier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CHF 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of CHF 3,120.00 (€ 2,012.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Composition, 1959 is the most expensive artwork by Jean Baier that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im März 2005 führte Christies in Genf die Auktion SCHWEIZER KUNST durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition, 1959 von Jean Baier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CHF 3.120,00 (€ 2.012,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Composition, 1959 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Jean Baier, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
