Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Jean McEwen was auctioned at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CAD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of CAD 10,200.00 (€ 7,323.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean McEwen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Compagnon De Silence in May 2012 with an auction result of CAD 65,750.00 (€ 51,381.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jean McEwen kam im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Toronto zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CAD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CAD 10.200,00 (€ 7.323,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean McEwen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Compagnon De Silence im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 65.750,00 (€ 51.381,15).
