Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California, which included the work Flag, 2017 by Jannis Varelas. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,200.00 (€ 6,997.78), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jannis Varelas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 20,160.00 (€ 20,607.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flag, 2017 von Jannis Varelas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.200,00 (€ 6.997,78) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jannis Varelas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 20.160,00 (€ 20.607,18) versteigert wurde.
