In July 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A Parliament of Refrigerator Magnets by Jane Hammond. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,582.62), 38% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jane Hammond - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Malcolm Wright Vase With Dogwood, Ocotillo And Orioles, which sold at auction in March 2019 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,699.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Parliament of Refrigerator Magnets von Jane Hammond zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.582,62) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jane Hammond mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Malcolm Wright Vase With Dogwood, Ocotillo And Orioles beobachtet, die im März 2019 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.699,32) versteigert wurde.
