Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Landscape with a mill and figures crossing a stream by Jan Willem van Borselen. The price achieved of GBP 1,147.50 (€ 1,360.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Willem van Borselen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Along the river Vlist in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 120,000.00.
