In October 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Along the river Vlist by Jan Willem van Borselen. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 120,000.00 71% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Along the river Vlist the most expensive artwork by Jan Willem van Borselen that we have observed at auctions so far.
