This artwork by Jan Wiegers achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2014. In the Modern Art auction, the work A Still Life With Books And Roses (Recto); A Portrait Of A Lady (Verso) sold for EUR 61,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Wiegers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dutch Music Hall, which sold at auction in June 2008 for EUR 216,750.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Wiegers erzielte im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Art wurde die Arbeit A Still Life With Books And Roses (Recto); A Portrait Of A Lady (Verso) für EUR 61.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Wiegers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dutch Music Hall beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für EUR 216.750,00 versteigert wurde.
