Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Portrait of Mathijs van Son (1665-1704), seated small three-quarter length, in a Japanse rok with a lace shirt, on a terrace; and Portrait of Elisabeth van Son, née Marchand (1668-1734), seated small three-quarter length, in a ochre silk dress with by Jan Verkolje the Elder. The price achieved of EUR 20,315.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 16,000.00 – 26,000.00. Other works by Jan Verkolje the Elder have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2011 the work A Portrait Of Two Sisters And Their Brother Playing With A Dog was auctioned for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 37,426.29).

Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Mathijs van Son (1665-1704), seated small three-quarter length, in a Japanse rok with a lace shirt, on a terrace; and Portrait of Elisabeth van Son, née Marchand (1668-1734), seated small three-quarter length, in a ochre silk dress with von Jan Verkolje the Elder zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 20.315,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 16.000,00 – 26.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Jan Verkolje the Elder konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2011 die Arbeit A Portrait Of Two Sisters And Their Brother Playing With A Dog für GBP 31.250,00 (€ 37.426,29) versteigert.
